AIM Congress 2026 Day One: A Ruler, Three Heads of Government, and a Warning About the Most Competitive World We Have Lived In

15thEdition
181Countries
20,000+Delegates
400+Sessions

Reporting from the floor at AIM Congress 2026, Dubai World Trade Centre, 7 to 9 September.

There is a number underneath everything happening at Dubai World Trade Centre this week, and it explains why heads of state are queuing to speak in an exhibition hall.

AED 177.3 billion.

That is what foreign direct investment into the UAE reached in 2025. Up six per cent. Ninth in the world. The fourth consecutive record year.

Around that figure, the fifteenth edition of AIM Congress has assembled delegations from 181 countries, more than 20,000 participants and over 400 sessions across three days, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Here is what it is actually like inside, and what it tells you about where capital is going.

What AIM Congress 2026 Actually Is

The Annual Investment Meeting has run for fifteen years. It is organised by the AIM Global Foundation, chaired by Dawood Al Shezawi, and it occupies a specific position that no other regional event holds.

Most trade shows connect buyers to sellers. AIM connects countries to capital.

The delegate list runs to sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, investment promotion agencies, ministries, central banks and family offices. The exhibitors are frequently nations rather than companies.

This year’s theme is Reshaping Global Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Pathways Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future, and the programme is built on three pillars.

Global Markets

Capital markets, FDI, supply chain localisation and trade reshaping under geopolitical pressure.

Future Economies

Technology, sustainability frameworks and the sectors driving the next decade of growth.

NexGen

Startups, entrepreneurs, pitch competitions and emerging talent.

Across those pillars sit conferences, investment destination forums, roundtables, exhibitions, workshops, pitch competitions, awards ceremonies and structured matchmaking. The 2025 edition drew 15,831 participants from 181 countries, featured 1,385 speakers across 431 sessions, and generated hundreds of memoranda of understanding.

Full programme details are on the official AIM Congress site and the DWTC event page.

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah Set the Frame

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, opened by addressing how geopolitical shifts are reshaping the international economic landscape.

His framing was deliberately two-sided. These forces create uncertainty, he told delegates, and for those prepared to adapt they also open the way to new industries, stronger partnerships and new centres of growth.

The proof he offered was his own emirate. Ras Al Khaimah’s business community now spans more than 73,000 companies representing over 100 countries, with a tourism strategy targeting a tripling of visitor numbers by 2030. More on that trajectory is on the RAK Tourism Development Authority site.

That framing carried through the rest of the programme. Uncertainty as a condition to be navigated, not a reason to wait.

Nobody on the main stage claimed the conditions were good. They claimed the conditions were readable, and readable conditions favour whoever can execute.

Deutsche Bank Named the Three Pillars of Moving Money

The clearest analytical framework came from Salman Mahdi, Global Vice Chairman of Private Bank at Deutsche Bank.

Mahdi argued that the GCC has become central to how global wealth is currently moving, and he broke that movement into three components: intergenerational wealth transition, family office capital, and sovereign capital.

His mechanism mattered more than his categories. Capital, he said, moves toward regions offering regulatory certainty, talent, opportunity and execution capability. Returns alone are not the draw.

He positioned the GCC as the immediate hub for capital moving between Europe, Africa, high-growth Asian markets and the Middle East.

Then the line that carried furthest. Mahdi told delegates this is “the most competitive world we have ever lived in,” and that what worked in the past may not work in the future.

A warning delivered at a celebration. Worth noticing.

Governments Came to Pitch, Not to Speak

President Taye Atske Selassie Mande of Ethiopia set out investment opportunities in minerals and agriculture. His Excellency Dorjkhand Togmid, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, and Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, both made the case for capital into their economies.

Pause on what that is.

A head of state and two heads of government presenting national investment cases directly to allocators, inside an exhibition hall on Sheikh Zayed Road. Not a bilateral summit. Not a state visit. A trade floor.

That is the structural story of AIM Congress, and it is different from the FDI headline that led the wires. Nations now compete for capital the way brands compete for customers, and they do it with a stand, a delegation and a pitch.

Delegates and country pavilions at AIM Congress 2026, Dubai World Trade Centre
Delegations from 181 countries are represented across the congress floor.

The Merchant Houses Shared a Stage With the Sovereigns

Yusuff Ali MA, chairman of Lulu Group International. Mishal Hamad Ali Mohamed Kanoo, chairman of the Kanoo Group. Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties.

Three men whose companies span retail, trade and real estate across the Gulf, tracing the region’s growth and its capacity to adapt.

Read that line-up against Mahdi’s three pillars and it stops looking like a scheduling coincidence. Family capital, institutional capital and sovereign capital were on the same programme, making versions of the same argument.

That is the composition of Gulf money in 2026, arranged on one stage.

The Number Nobody Reported

Every speaker at this congress is standing on the FDI figure. It deserves the attention it gets. Cumulative FDI stock has reached AED 1.171 trillion. The UAE held second place worldwide for new greenfield projects for a third consecutive year, attracting 1,562 projects and accounting for 38 per cent of all greenfield capital expenditure across the Middle East, according to the UNCTAD World Investment Report 2026.

But there is a second figure that received almost no coverage.

Non-oil trade reached AED 452.8 billion, up 23.9 per cent. It appears in the official GlobeNewswire release and was largely absent from the day’s reporting.

FDI tells you who is buying into the country. Non-oil trade tells you what the country actually makes and moves.

The second number is the one that becomes warehouses, factories, logistics contracts and, eventually, exhibition floors. If you build anything physical in this region, that is your leading indicator, not the first one.

The Real Congress Happens Behind a Second Door

Here is the thing that is easy to miss if you only read the coverage.

The main stage is the frame. The transactions are elsewhere.

AIM operates a two-tier access structure. A Visitor Pass opens the exhibition halls, select open sessions and interactive zones. A Delegate Pass opens closed-door briefings, executive lounges, ministerial dialogues and private investor roundtables.

Which means the sessions that produce memoranda of understanding are, by design, the ones with no press in the room. The 2025 edition generated hundreds of MoUs across 431 sessions. Almost none of that happened in front of a camera.

The visible end arrives on the final day: bilateral and multilateral signings, country pavilion deal announcements, and the AIM Investment Awards.

If you are attending to be seen, the opening day is the day. If you are attending to close, the calendar runs the other way.

New Jurisdictions Are Buying Their Way Onto the Map

One detail from AIM’s own channels that has not appeared in a single news report.

The Gala Dinner Partner for this edition is TAMCHY SFIT, described as a next-generation financial jurisdiction in Central Asia.

Consider what that transaction represents. A newly established jurisdiction, thousands of kilometres away, has concluded that the fastest route to credibility with global capital runs through a dinner at a Dubai congress.

The programme carries the same signal elsewhere. His Excellency Nawaf Khalid Al-Zayani of Bahrain on regional cooperation and private-sector leadership. Ali Abdul Latif Al Misnad of Qatar Chamber on trade and investment pathways.

Dubai is not simply hosting the conversation about capital. It has become the venue where jurisdictions go to be taken seriously.

Why a Country Pavilion Is Not a Stand

We build for a living, so we notice a particular thing on this floor that a business journalist would not.

At most exhibitions, a stand is a marketing asset. At AIM, for a national delegation, it is sovereign representation.

That changes the brief entirely.

  • Protocol governs the design. Flag and emblem usage, seating hierarchy, and the placement of a private receiving area for ministerial visits are not aesthetic decisions.
  • The meeting room is the product. An enclosed, sound-managed space where a minister can sit with an allocator is worth more than any graphic.
  • Approvals run through more hands. Government and quasi-government briefs pass through ministries, embassies and protocol offices. The timeline is not the same as a corporate stand.
  • Security clearance applies to the build crew. When heads of state are on site, install and dismantle windows tighten and every name on the crew list is checked.

None of that is visible in a photograph of a finished pavilion. All of it decides whether the pavilion exists on opening morning.

It is the same discipline behind our work with Department of Health Abu Dhabi, RTA Dubai, Dubai Economy and Qatar Tourism, where the brief is rarely about a product and almost always about a national position.

What AIM Congress 2026 Is Really Telling You

The word that keeps returning across this programme is uncertainty. The answer that keeps following it is adaptation.

Mahdi named execution capability as one of four things capital looks for. Sheikh Saud framed adaptation as the dividing line between those who lose in a shifting landscape and those who find new centres of growth in it. Alabbar, Yusuff Ali and Kanoo each described businesses that survived by changing shape.

After fifteen years and more than 200 stands across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the projects that go wrong are almost never the ones with the wrong idea. They are the ones where nobody could execute the idea on the timeline that existed.

AIM Congress is, underneath the numbers, a room full of people saying exactly that in different languages.

Middle East Event Show 2026 Day One: The Industry Came Back Talking About Resilience, Not Recovery

17thEdition
6,000+Professionals

Covering Middle East Event Show 2026 from the floor at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre. Day One, Tuesday 18 August.

Eleven in the morning, and the doors open on the seventeenth edition of a show that has spent nearly two decades being the place this industry takes its own temperature.

Last year’s edition drew more than 5,600 event professionals, up around twelve per cent on the year before. This year the target is six thousand. In a sector that spent five years being told it might not survive contact with video calls, that is a number worth sitting with.

Six thousand event professionals. More than a hundred solution providers. Sixty speakers across thirty-five sessions. Three streams running until eight at night, then an awards ceremony at Madinat Jumeirah on Thursday to close the week.

And a theme that Informa Connect put in writing before anyone walked in.

Reconnect. Rebuild. Move Forward.

Read that sequence carefully. It is not a marketing line. It is a diagnosis.

What the Middle East Event Show 2026 Agenda Is Actually Admitting

An agenda is a confession. It tells you what an industry is worried about, because nobody programmes thirty-five sessions around problems they have already solved.

Look at what the Day One agenda chose to put on stage.

Built to Last

Resilience as the events industry’s new standard. Not growth. Resilience.

Behind the Pressure

Mental wellbeing, with a DHA-licensed clinical psychologist on the panel.

Event Industry 2030

A keynote asking, out loud, what will disappear.

Add Freelance Under Pressure: The Future of Our Beloved Freelancers, Rebuilding the Chain: Supply, Sourcing, and the Road Ahead, Human to Human: What the Industry Is Really Thinking, and Marketing That Moves: Winning in the Algorithm Era, and the picture sharpens further.

Fifteen years ago a regional events agenda was wall to wall on bigger, brighter, more. This one opens at 11:30 with Enrico Gallorini of GRS Research & Strategy delivering a keynote called The Road Ahead: A New Chapter for the Events Industry.

A researcher. In the opening slot. Before anyone sells anything.

That tells you the room wanted data before it wanted optimism.

An industry confident of its position writes about growth. An industry that has been through something writes about resilience.

The AI Question Nobody Wanted to Ask Out Loud

At 14:25 the Main Stage runs a panel with a title sharp enough to draw blood. The AI-Proof Industry? Why Events Might Be Technology’s Biggest Blind Spot.

On it: Azza Hegazi, Head of Global Brand Experience for MENA at Snapchat. Tala Abu Taha, Chief Growth Officer at 9Yards. Walid Faza, COO at Tangents. Gokul Bajaj of Cvent. Georgia Maalouf of JAM Event Services.

The comfortable answer is that events are AI-proof because a handshake cannot be automated.

The uncomfortable answer, and the reason that panel exists, is that almost everything around the handshake already is. Registration. Lead scoring. Matchmaking. Translation, and this edition has an official AI translation partner. Badge data. Post-show attribution.

Over on the Seminars Stage, the CEO of fielddrive runs a keynote on secure check-ins and event intelligence. Lüp Events follows with personalisation at scale. The new Workshop Zone, delivered with content partner The Events Group, opens Day One with a three hour paid session on using AI to boost team productivity.

The industry is not debating whether AI arrives. It is debating which part of the job it takes first.

Our read, from the build side, is narrower and more useful. AI is eating the logistics layer and leaving the physical layer largely untouched. Nobody has automated a truss calculation, a DWTC rigging permit, or a client changing the brief nine days before doors open. Value is migrating toward whatever cannot be generated, which is a reasonable description of everything we do in event production and stand build.

Mega Events and the National Vision Economy

13:40, Main Stage. National Visions & Mega Events: Driving Economic & Cultural Impact, with Electra, SM Productions, Medialinks and No1Events.

Then at 17:05, Ras Al Khaimah Rising: The Power of Events in Destination Development, delivered by Iyad Rasbey of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.

This is the most under-discussed structural story in GCC events right now. Demand is no longer coming primarily from brands. It is coming from governments and government-linked authorities. UAE Vision. Saudi Vision 2030. Qatar National Vision. Individual emirates positioning themselves as destinations. Cultural bodies building event calendars from zero.

For anyone in production or fabrication, that changes the nature of the work. Government-linked projects carry longer lead times, heavier compliance, stricter sustainability requirements, and a scrutiny of legacy that a corporate stand brief has never had. On Day Two the theme returns as Destination Makers: Branding Cities Through Events, with Dubai Lynx, Trivandi and Coca-Cola Arena on the panel.

The pull works in both directions. The Event Production Show and International Confex, two established UK industry shows, are exhibiting here for the third year running. When British organisers fly to Dubai to sell into this market rather than the other way round, the centre of gravity has already moved.

Cities are the client now. We have seen the same shift in our own work with Department of Health Abu Dhabi, RTA Dubai, Qatar Tourism and Dubai Economy, where the brief is rarely about a product and almost always about a national position.

Speaker presenting on the seminar stage at the Middle East Event Show, Dubai World Trade Centre
The seminar programme ran from 11am to 8pm across both days.

Sustainability Stopped Being a Slide

13:40 on the Seminars Stage. Greener by Design: Making Sustainable Events Real, with Green Alchemy Project Management, Electra, minus45dB, JAM Event Services and Aggreko.

Running alongside it, a six hour paid ESG and carbon workshop split across both days, certificate included, at AED 500.

That last detail matters more than the panel does. When an industry starts paying for certification rather than attending free talks about it, the conversation has moved from aspiration to procurement requirement.

The show is walking it too. Digitised collateral, single-use plastic reduction, a sustainable flooring partner, reduced-emission logistics, accessibility and inclusion commitments. Every one of those is a supply chain decision rather than a communications decision. Informa has published the full sustainability approach.

Reusable modular systems, local fabrication and material recovery used to be the ethical option in stand building. Across the GCC they are becoming the tender requirement. Any builder still quoting single-use timber structures as standard is quoting against a clock.

The People Problem, On Stage For Once

The most honest programming decision at this show has nothing to do with technology.

Day Two, 15:55, a conversation circle titled Behind the Pressure: Mental Wellbeing in the Events Industry. Coca-Cola Arena, inD, Clarion Events, a DHA-licensed clinical psychologist, and the founder of mentl.

Day Two, 13:30, Next-Gen Talent: Building the Workforce of Tomorrow. Day Two, 11:30, the freelancer panel with THA by ARMONIA, GPJ Middle East, Coca-Cola Arena, LINKVIVA and Eventlab.

This is an industry that runs on people working eighteen hour build days, sleeping in venues during install week, and absorbing changes nobody budgeted for. Everyone in it knows. Almost nobody programmes a stage around it.

That the Middle East Event Show 2026 did is arguably the most mature thing on the agenda.

What the Organisers and Partners Are Actually Saying

The official positioning around this edition is worth reading closely, because it is unusually candid for a trade show announcement.

Amar Daginawala, Exhibition Director of MEES, framed the 2026 edition as pushing the industry conversation further than previous years, pointing to how quickly the sector is changing across technology, audience expectations and client demands, and arguing that the industry needs somewhere to discuss those changes openly rather than privately.

That framing shows up in the partner statements too, and each one reveals a different pressure point.

Staffing is repositioning as strategy. Shams Moloo, Chief Development Officer at THA by ARMONIA, described the company arriving at the show not as a staffing agency but as a partner with ambitions beyond its home market, and made a point that deserves attention across the whole sector: that excellence built in the GCC travels. Regional suppliers are no longer positioning themselves as regional.

Event technology is chasing the visitor journey. Cristina Achim, Head of Product Management at Visit by GES, tied the company’s return to the industry entering a new chapter, and to the value of understanding changing expectations across organisers, exhibitors and visitors as a single system rather than three separate audiences.

And the technology partner argued against technology. Daniel Andrews, CEO of PurpleGlo, returning as Lead Technology Partner ten years on, made the case that great experiences still start with people, and that creativity, storytelling and an understanding of human behaviour are what bring an experience to life.

That is the Lead Technology Partner saying the technology is not the point. Which is roughly the same conclusion the AI panel reached three hours earlier, from the opposite direction.

The speaker list reinforces it. Azza Hegazi of Snapchat on meaningful brand experiences. Cosmin Ivan of Platinumlist on audience behaviour and the future of ticketing. Iyad Rasbey of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority on events as destination infrastructure. Priya Patel of Coca-Cola Arena on wellbeing and professional pressure. Shea Bennett of Identity Middle East on delivering major experiential projects across the region.

Five senior people, five different specialisms, and a shared underlying argument: the differentiator is no longer the tooling.

What the Exhibition Floor Is Really For

Six thousand professionals in one hall over two days produces a number that looks like footfall and functions as something else entirely.

The testimonials on the show’s own site say it plainly. Suppliers describe it as the annual gathering. One senior business development manager describes several years of participation across the UAE and Saudi Arabia with compounding commercial return.

That is the tell. The value of this show is not measured in a single edition. It is measured in the fifth.

Which is exactly what we tell clients about their own stands. The brief that says we need leads this week almost always underperforms the brief that says we need this room to know who we are by 2028. It is the same logic behind our guidance for Forex Expo Dubai 2026 and GITEX Global 2026, two shows where presence compounds and absence is noticed.

Fourteen or more specialist companies behind one ballroom.

The shortlist itself is worth reading for the same reason. Categories now run down to Best Event Power & Utilities Solution Provider, a level of specialisation that did not exist in this region a decade ago. Judges assessed entries on creativity, impact and execution. An industry only splits its awards that finely once the supply chain underneath it has become genuinely deep.

Nobody builds alone in this region any more. That is the quiet story of the sponsor page, and it is worth more study than the awards themselves.

What Day One Actually Told Us

Every edition of this show produces a sentence that ends up describing the following year.

In 2026 it is on the poster, and it is deliberately unglamorous.

Reconnect. Rebuild. Move Forward.

An industry confident of its position programmes growth. An industry that has been through something programmes resilience, puts a clinical psychologist on the main agenda, pays for carbon certification, and asks out loud what will disappear by 2030.

That is not a weaker industry. It is an older one, and a considerably more useful one to build for.

One footnote we noticed walking the floor. This show traces its roots to 2009, the year AURA 919 was founded. Both grew up alongside the modern GCC events industry, from a market that was still proving itself into one that now hosts the calendar. Seventeen editions later, the industry this show documents looks almost nothing like the one it started in. That, more than any single session, is the story of the last decade in the Gulf.

Planning a Forex Expo Dubai exhibition stand for the 2026 edition? Here is everything brokers, fintechs and liquidity providers need to know before they brief a builder.

Forex Expo Dubai has been quietly building itself into the biggest event of its kind on the planet, and last October it made that official. The 2025 edition set two Guinness World Records in one weekend, largest attendance at a forex event and most exhibitors at a forex event, both achieved right here in Dubai. Forex Expo Dubai 2026 returns to Dubai World Trade Centre on 22 and 23 September, and by every early sign it is set to be bigger again.

If your brand sits anywhere in trading, brokerage, liquidity, payments, RegTech or digital assets, this is the two days where the whole industry shows up in one building. Over 250 exhibitors and sponsors, tens of thousands of attendees from more than 50 countries, and a floor that spans Halls 1 through 5. Full exhibitor and registration details are on the official Forex Expo Dubai site.

A quick heads up on timing. September is only about eight weeks out from today. If you are still shortlisting builders, start with our exhibition stand builder Dubai page for scope, timelines and indicative pricing. That is tighter than the usual 10 to 12 week window we would normally recommend for a custom stand. If you are planning to exhibit, the smart move is to start the design conversation now rather than later.

These are not people wandering in for a free pen. They are at the show to close deals. It is the same profile we design for at GITEX Global 2026, where B2B intent outweighs footfall every time.

“At a forex expo, your stand is not competing on spectacle. It is competing on trust. The brands that win are the ones that look like they belong in a boardroom, not a carnival.”

What the Best Forex Expo Dubai Exhibition Stands Actually Do

A forex or fintech stand runs on a completely different brief to a food show or a construction expo. A few things that matter here and almost nowhere else:

Restraint reads as credibility

This is one of the few sectors where less genuinely is more. Glass, brushed metal, clean typography and a tight colour palette signal institutional trust far more effectively than a loud, colourful build. Our Lexus stand in Dubai is a good reference for how far restraint can carry a premium brand. Brokers and liquidity providers are pitching stability. Your stand needs to look like it.

Live data walls, not static branding

The stands that stop people are the ones running real-time currency tickers, live spread comparisons or platform dashboards on a large screen. This sits under our digital and technology capability, LED walls, touchscreens and live data integration built into the structure rather than bolted on. It is the same principle as a trading floor, movement catches the eye and signals that what you are showing actually works.

Private meeting space, non-negotiable

This is arguably the single most important design element at a forex expo. IB partnerships, liquidity agreements and institutional deals do not get discussed standing in an open aisle. Enclosed pods with proper sound privacy, seating for four to six, and a professional finish are where the real business at this show gets done. See how we handle enclosed space in our exhibition stand portfolio.

App and platform demo stations

Most brokers and fintechs here are selling a platform, not a physical product. Dedicated demo stations with tablets or touchscreens, staffed by someone who can walk a visitor through onboarding in two minutes, convert far better than a wall of static screenshots. For smaller footprints we also build modular and pop up formats that carry the same demo hardware across multiple shows.

A lounge that earns a five minute conversation

With IBs and affiliates making up a huge share of the audience, a comfortable seating area with proper hospitality does real work here. These are relationship-driven deals. Giving someone a reason to sit down for five minutes is often worth more than the flashiest screen on the floor.

Things You Should Know Before Booking a Forex Expo Dubai Exhibition Stand

A few practical points that do not always make it into the show’s own marketing, but matter once you are actually planning a stand.

Lead capture needs to be built in from day one

With around 5,000 B2B visitors and thousands of IBs and affiliates walking the floor, working the room with a stack of business cards simply does not scale. Badge scanning, digital lead forms or a CRM integration built into your stand design pays for itself fast. Build the hardware and workflow into the stand plan early rather than bolting it on the week before.

Watch what you promise on signage

Forex and financial products sit under fairly strict advertising rules in the UAE, and regulators do walk the floor. Avoid guaranteed return language, unverified performance claims or anything that could read as promising profit. Keep messaging to product features, platform capability and company credentials, and have your compliance team sign off on stand graphics before they go to print. Our branding and graphics team produces print-ready artwork once compliance has signed off, so nothing gets held up at production.

Location on the floor matters more here than at most shows

Because so much of this audience is IBs and affiliates specifically hunting for broker partnerships, stand position near the networking lounges or the B2B matchmaking zones tends to outperform a spot near the general entrance. Ask about hall layout and lounge placement before you lock in your space. The DWTC interactive floor plan is worth studying before you commit.

Staff your stand for a genuinely international crowd

With visitors from 50 plus countries, English alone will not cover the room. Arabic is essential, and depending on your target markets, staff who speak Mandarin, Russian or Hindi can make a real difference in how many quality conversations you actually have.

Book dedicated connectivity, do not rely on venue WiFi

If your stand includes live trading dashboards, platform demos or app walkthroughs, venue WiFi gets heavily congested with thousands of exhibitors and visitors online at once. Book a dedicated line or hotspot solution through the venue in advance so your demo does not stall in front of a broker you have been trying to reach for months. This is standard in our event production scope.

Secure your screens and devices overnight

Large-format displays, tablets and demo laptops are valuable and portable. Factor overnight security or lockable storage into your stand design, particularly if you are running a two day show with an overnight gap in between.

Meeting pods get booked out, reserve early

Because so much of the real business happens in private conversations rather than on the open floor, enclosed meeting space is often the first thing exhibitors run short of. Plan for more pods than you think you will need, and have a simple booking system so your team is not double-booking the same space. See the wider 2026 GCC exhibition calendar if you are planning more than one show this year.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions, Forex Expo Dubai 2026 exhibition stands

When and where is Forex Expo Dubai 2026?

22 and 23 September 2026, at Dubai World Trade Centre, across Halls 1 to 5.

How many exhibitors and visitors does the show attract?

The 2025 edition set two Guinness World Records for largest attendance and most exhibitors at a forex event, with over 30,990 attendees, roughly 5,000 dedicated B2B visitors, nearly 4,000 IBs and affiliates, and 240 plus exhibitors and sponsors from 50 plus countries. The 2026 edition is expected to be bigger again, with over 250 exhibitors and sponsors already confirmed.

Who exhibits and attends Forex Expo Dubai?

Forex brokers, liquidity providers, fintech and payment companies, introducing brokers and affiliates, technology providers, regulators and compliance experts, plus traders and investors attending to explore platforms and tools.

What is different about designing a stand for a forex or fintech show?

The audience here values trust and credibility over spectacle. Stands need a restrained, premium finish, live data displays rather than static graphics, dedicated platform demo stations, and above all, private enclosed meeting space, since most of the real business gets discussed away from the open floor.

How early should I book my stand builder for Forex Expo Dubai 2026?

As soon as possible. With the show in September, we are already inside the tighter end of the usual booking window. We would recommend reaching out now rather than waiting, particularly if your stand needs custom AV or screen integration.

How much does a Forex Expo exhibition stand cost in Dubai?

Costs typically range from around AED 25,000 for a 9 sqm shell scheme upgrade to AED 400,000 and above for a large custom island build. Final cost depends on size, screen and AV specification, meeting pod requirements and finish level. Contact AURA 919 for a quote specific to your space and brief.

Can AURA 919 build exhibition stands for finance and fintech brands?

Yes. We design and build stands for brokers, fintechs and financial services companies exhibiting across Dubai’s major finance events, with premium finishes, live screen integration and private meeting infrastructure as standard capability. Fully accredited at DWTC and every major GCC venue.

GITEX Global 2026 is a complete reinvention. GITEX 5.0 — the 46th edition — moves from its 45-year home at DWTC to a new location, a new date and a new format. The event runs 7–11 December 2026 at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai — a $2.7 billion purpose-built venue 1.5 times the size of DWTC. Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the guidance of HH Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, the move advances the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

For brands planning to exhibit, every assumption from previous editions needs revisiting. Bigger halls. Longer sight lines. A December date that places GITEX at the heart of Dubai’s peak tourism season — turning the event into the world’s first TechCation.

GITEX 5.0 — What Changed and Why It Matters

New Venue

Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai — $2.7B expansion, 1.5× size of DWTC, largest purpose-built indoor venue in the region

New Date

December 7–11 2026 — moves to Dubai’s peak tourism season. Visitors stay longer, engage deeper with exhibitors

New Format

GITEX reunites with Expand North Star at one venue. TechCation launches. Scale Summit on Day 1. 8 co-located events

GITEX 2025 at DWTC attracted 200,000+ visitors from 180 countries, 6,800+ exhibiting companies and 400+ government entities. The 2026 edition at Expo City is projected to exceed 250,000 attendees and 9,500 exhibitors — with Expand North Star’s startups and investors returning to a single location for the first time.

“GITEX’s relocation to Expo City Dubai and the introduction of TechCation represent the evolution of Dubai’s innovation story — one that connects business, culture, and lifestyle.” — Dubai Government Media Office

The GITEX 2026 Programme — 8 Co-located Events

GITEX 2026 is an integrated ecosystem of eight simultaneous events:

  • GITEX Scale Summit (7 December) — strategic dialogue for global leaders on AI economies and policy frameworks
  • GITEX Global Main Exhibition (8–11 December) — AI, quantum computing, biosciences, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, mobility
  • AI Everything — dedicated AI business and innovation platform
  • Expand North Star — world’s largest startup and investor event, reuniting with GITEX at Expo City
  • GITEX Impact — sustainability and responsible tech
  • Future Urbanism — smart cities and urban technology
  • Global DevSlam — developer ecosystem and open-source innovation
  • TechCation (new 2026) — citywide technology-lifestyle experience across Dubai

What the Best GITEX Stands Do — Lessons from 2025

Large-format LED walls — minimum 3 metres high

At Expo City’s expanded halls, 3 metres is the minimum for aisle visibility. The most effective GITEX stands showed dynamic content changing every 15–20 seconds — live data, real-time product metrics and AI-generated visuals outperformed branded video in visitor dwell time.

Open layout — zero walls facing the aisle

Open stands with clear interior visibility from 15+ metres convert passing traffic. At a 200,000-person event, visitors make split-second decisions to stop or continue. A walled stand with a single entry point repels foot traffic before you can engage it.

One hero activation — the reason to stop

The highest-performing GITEX stands in 2025 had a single, clear, visually arresting activation: an interactive AI demo, a robotics display in motion, a VR experience with a queue forming. One strong reason to stop is more powerful than ten weak ones.

Government-focused meeting infrastructure

With 400+ government entities at GITEX, private meeting pods — not open tables — are essential for the conversations where the largest contracts originate. Sound privacy, seating for four to six, brand materials available for leave-behind.

Saudi Arabia welcomed 122 million visitors in 2025 — its largest tourism year on record, and a clear signal that Vision 2030’s transformation is accelerating faster than planned. The Kingdom has already exceeded its original 100 million visitor target six years ahead of schedule, and the new goal of 150 million annual visitors by 2030 is driving one of the most significant infrastructure buildouts in the world.

For brands operating in technology, food and beverage, construction, travel, healthcare or any sector connected to Saudi Arabia’s mega-projects, the exhibition calendar in Riyadh has become one of the most valuable marketing channels in the GCC. And the competition for premium exhibition stand space — and quality stand builders who know how to operate in the Kingdom — has never been higher.

AURA 919 has a permanent, dedicated team based in Riyadh. This is not a subcontractor arrangement or a project-by-project partnership. It is our own people, on the ground, delivering exhibition stands at Saudi Arabia’s biggest events year-round.

Big 5 Construct Saudi — Gateway to a $1.7 Trillion Market

Big 5 Construct Saudi is the Kingdom’s largest construction exhibition — running twice in 2026: 18–21 January and 11–14 May at Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre (RFECC), located at ROSHN Front near King Khalid International Airport.

Saudi Arabia’s construction market is valued at $1.7 trillion — fuelled by giga-projects including NEOM, the Red Sea Project, Qiddiya and Diriyah Gate. Big 5 Construct Saudi is where brands supplying materials, technology, machinery and services to these projects come to meet decision-makers and close deals.

The 2026 edition covers: building envelopes and construction, smart building technologies, MEP systems, off-site and modular construction, interior finishing, solar integration and AI-driven site management platforms.

Saudi Travel Market — Tourism Exhibition for Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia welcomed 122 million visitors in 2025 and is targeting 150 million by 2030. The Saudi Travel Market (STM) — running 11–13 May 2026 — is the Kingdom’s premier travel and tourism B2B trade show, connecting destination brands, hotel groups, tour operators, airline representatives and tourism technology companies with Gulf buyers.

Saudi Food Expo — The $54 Billion Food Industry Platform

The Saudi Food Expo runs 21–24 June 2026 at Riyadh Front Expo — bringing together 450+ exhibitors from 60 countries to access Saudi Arabia’s $54 billion food and beverage industry. With 15,000+ expected visitors including buyers, wholesalers, distributors and hospitality decision-makers, it is the most concentrated food B2B event in the Kingdom. Sectors: Beverages, Coffee, Dairy, Desserts, Grains and Cereals, Hospitality and Kitchen Equipment.

Why Saudi Arabia Requires a Different Approach to Stand Design

Riyadh is not Dubai. The exhibition culture, regulatory environment, venue authority requirements and audience expectations are distinct. A stand that performs at DWTC needs careful adaptation for RICEC, RFECC and Jeddah’s venues.

  • Authority approvals — Saudi venues require contractor registration and permit submission. AURA 919 is fully registered at all major Saudi venues
  • Cultural design considerations — materials, imagery, hospitality layout and meeting area design must align with Saudi cultural standards
  • Logistics lead times — our Riyadh team manages local fabrication and procurement, reducing shipping delays and costs
  • Prayer time scheduling — build-up and event timings are structured around prayer times; experienced local coordination is essential

Our Riyadh team handles everything — design, fabrication, permits, logistics, installation and dismantling. One team, full accountability across KSA.

The 28th edition of WETEX — the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition — runs 20–22 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by DEWA under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, WETEX is the world’s largest specialised exhibition of its kind and the largest sustainability and clean energy platform in the MENA region.

The 27th edition set the benchmark: 3,100 exhibiting brands from 65 countries, over 50,000 visitors, 18 international pavilions, 68 sponsors, and 114 specialised seminars — all across 95,000 square metres of DWTC floor space. For the 28th edition, DEWA is pushing further into AI, green hydrogen, smart cities and decarbonisation.

If your brand is in renewable energy, water technology, AI, sustainability, green mobility or environmental solutions — WETEX is the most important three days of your year in the UAE. And your exhibition stand is your biggest competitive weapon on that floor.

What WETEX 2026 Covers — 9 Official Sectors

According to the official DEWA announcement for the 28th edition, WETEX 2026 spans nine key sectors:

⚡ Energy

Power generation, smart grids, nuclear, renewables

💧 Water

Treatment, purification, desalination, smart water management

🌿 Green Development

Net zero, decarbonisation, green building

🤖 AI & Digital

AI in energy, digital transformation, smart infrastructure

☀️ Sustainability

ESG, environmental protection, circular economy

🚗 Green Mobility

EV technology, hydrogen, charging infrastructure, low-emission fuels

🌊 Green Hydrogen

Hydrogen production, storage, fuel cell applications

🏙️ Sustainable Cities

Smart city infrastructure, urban sustainability, IoT

♻️ Decarbonisation

Carbon capture, emissions reduction, clean fuels

In 2025, WETEX introduced a dedicated Green Mobility Hall — showcasing hydrogen technologies, low-emission fuels and AI applications advancing EV adoption. WETEX 2026 expands this with drones, smart grid innovation and AI-energy integration as headline features.

WETEX also runs alongside the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) — giving exhibitors simultaneous access to technology buyers at WETEX and government ministers and sustainability policy leaders at WGES. This dual-event platform is unique to WETEX in the UAE calendar.

Why the WETEX Audience Judges You by Your Stand

WETEX attracts a precise, senior audience: DEWA officials, government ministers, clean energy engineers, ESG directors, institutional investors and procurement heads from 65 countries. MoUs and government agreements are signed on the floor. Business-to-government deals are closed over three days.

This audience evaluates your brand’s credibility on sight. They attend 114 expert seminars. They know immediately whether your stand reflects your claims — or contradicts them.

“At WETEX, your stand IS your sustainability statement. We design it to say the right thing before you speak a single word.”

The three things every high-performing WETEX stand does well:

  • Credibility at first glance — premium finish, real product integration, government certifications visible from the aisle
  • Live technology demonstration — working equipment, real-time dashboards, AI configurators visitors can interact with
  • Private meeting infrastructure — enclosed pods where government and investor conversations can happen

Sustainable Stand Design — What DWTC and DEWA Require

DWTC operates strict sustainability guidelines for all exhibitors. DEWA, as organiser, sets an even higher standard — and 50,000 visitors at a clean energy exhibition will immediately notice a stand built with single-use materials, halogen lighting and PVC graphics.

AURA 919 builds WETEX stands that align with DWTC regulations and DEWA’s audience expectations:

  • FSC-certified timber frames and recycled aluminium structures
  • Fabric graphic systems — 100% recyclable, zero PVC, reusable across shows
  • LED-only lighting — 70% lower energy consumption vs traditional stand lighting
  • Modular design — rebuilt at WETEX, Big 5, DEWA events, reducing long-term cost
  • Multi-event storage programme — reducing costs by up to 40% from show two onwards
  • Complete waste management — zero single-use plastics on stand

Technology That Wins Visitors at WETEX 2026

The highest-performing technology stands at WETEX 2025 used these approaches:

Live Energy Data Dashboards

Large LED walls showing real-time output from your products or installations — not simulations, actual live data. The single most effective credibility signal for any energy technology brand at WETEX.

AI Product Configurators

Touchscreen tools where visitors input parameters and see customised solutions and ROI projections in real time. Visitors who interact stay 4× longer than those who only look.

Green Hydrogen and EV Demonstrations

Given WETEX 2026’s expanded Green Mobility Hall, brands in hydrogen, EV charging and low-emission transport should build live demonstrations into their stand architecture — show the technology working, not just displayed.

Smart Lead Capture

WETEX generates high volumes of government and institutional visitors. Badge scanning, digital business cards and instant CRM integration ensure every conversation is tracked and followed up efficiently.

AURA 919 — Our WETEX Credentials

AURA 919 has designed and delivered exhibition stands at WETEX and DEWA events across multiple editions. Our clients include the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, RTA, Dubai Economy and Tourism — organisations where failure on the day is not an option.

Our full in-house capability — design, fabrication, logistics, installation, live management and dismantling — means one team accountable from first sketch to final bolt. No subcontractors. No surprises on build day at DWTC.

We are fully accredited at DWTC, ADNEC Abu Dhabi, Expo City Dubai, RICEC Riyadh and Doha Exhibition Centre — so your WETEX stand can be the starting point for your entire GCC exhibition calendar.

WETEX 2026 — the 28th edition — runs 20–22 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

How many exhibitors and visitors does WETEX attract?

The 27th edition recorded 3,100 exhibiting brands from 65 countries, over 50,000 visitors, 18 international pavilions, 68 sponsors and 114 specialised seminars — all across 95,000 sqm of DWTC floor space. WETEX 2026 is expected to be the largest edition yet.

What sectors does WETEX 2026 cover?

WETEX 2026 covers 9 official sectors confirmed by DEWA: energy, water, green development, digital transformation and AI, sustainability, decarbonisation, green mobility, green hydrogen and sustainable cities. The Green Mobility Hall returns with expanded focus on hydrogen technologies, low-emission fuels and EV infrastructure.

Does WETEX run alongside any other events?

Yes. WETEX runs in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) — giving exhibitors simultaneous access to global technology buyers at WETEX and government ministers and sustainability policy leaders at WGES. This dual-audience platform is unique in the UAE exhibition calendar.

How early should I book my WETEX 2026 stand builder?

Start design conversations by mid-July 2026 at the latest. For large custom builds (50+ sqm) or technology integration, start in June. Early booking secures better design options, preferred DWTC build slots and more time for 3D revisions and approvals.

Can AURA 919 build sustainable exhibition stands for WETEX?

Yes. We use FSC-certified timber, recycled aluminium, fabric graphics (zero PVC), LED-only lighting and modular structures reused across multiple events. Our multi-event storage programme reduces stand costs by up to 40% from your second show onwards.

How much does a WETEX exhibition stand cost in Dubai?

Exhibition stand costs at WETEX range from AED 25,000 for a 9 sqm shell scheme upgrade to AED 400,000+ for a large custom island build. Final cost depends on size, design complexity, technology integration and services required. Contact AURA 919 for a quote specific to your space and brief.

Top 5 Exhibition Stand Trends in Dubai for 2026 — GITEX, WHX & Beyond

When was the last time an exhibition stand didn’t just catch your eye — but stopped you completely in your tracks? If you’re still thinking, that’s exactly the point.

As Dubai enters 2026, the GCC’s exhibition landscape is going through its most significant transformation yet. GITEX Global moves to Expo City Dubai (7–11 December 2026). Arab Health evolves into World Health Expo (WHX Dubai), now hosted at Dubai Exhibition Centre. Gulfood continues to grow with 8,500+ exhibitors. The venues are bigger, the audiences more demanding, and the competition fiercer than ever.

For brands planning to exhibit — the question is no longer whether your stand looks good. It’s whether your stand does something.

Here are the five exhibition stand design trends in Dubai for 2026 that are redefining how brands connect with audiences across the GCC.

1. Immersive Technology — AR, VR and Mixed Reality

Virtual and Augmented Reality are no longer novelties at exhibitions — they are now expected. The brands that used AR/VR activations at GITEX 2025 reported visitor dwell times 4× longer than traditional stands. In 2026, the bar is higher.

The most compelling immersive exhibition stands in Dubai now feature:

  • Mixed-reality simulations layered over physical sets
  • Multi-user VR zones allowing groups to explore together
  • Augmented holography — floating visuals that respond to movement and voice
  • Full product configurators where visitors customise and visualise in real time

At GITEX 2026 and WHX Dubai, AURA 919 designs immersive tech stands that integrate seamlessly with your brand narrative — from concept and 3D render to full installation and live-event technical management.

“Memory is tied to experience. Immersive tech doesn’t just tell your story — it lets attendees live it.”

2. AI-Powered Personalisation — Real-Time, Real Smart

Artificial Intelligence is now front and centre on exhibition floors. AI-powered exhibition stands in the UAE are using real-time visitor data to personalise every interaction — from the content displayed on LED walls to the conversation a digital assistant opens with each visitor.

In practice this means:

  • Facial recognition kiosks that identify returning visitors and surface relevant content
  • AI chatbots trained on your product portfolio that qualify leads live
  • Dynamic content walls that shift messaging based on visitor demographics
  • Real-time sentiment analysis — adapting the experience as the crowd changes

For brands exhibiting at GITEX Global 2026 at Expo City Dubai, AI personalisation isn’t a luxury — it’s how you compete with 6,800+ other exhibitors for 200,000 visitors’ attention.

3. Sustainable Stand Design — Built Green, Built to Last

Sustainability is no longer optional for major exhibitions. DWTC and Expo City Dubai both have active sustainability mandates, and brands are responding. Sustainable exhibition stand design in Dubai in 2026 means:

  • Modular, reconfigurable stand structures — reused across multiple shows
  • FSC-certified timber and recycled aluminium fabrication
  • LED lighting only — zero halogen, significantly lower energy consumption
  • Sustainable graphics — fabric-printed displays replacing foam and PVC
  • Zero single-use plastics on the stand

AURA 919’s multi-event stand storage programme allows clients to reuse the same stand across GITEX, WHX Dubai, Gulfood and Big 5 — reducing cost by up to 40% from the second show onwards.

4. LED Walls and High-Impact Digital Displays

The LED wall exhibition stand has become the defining visual of Dubai’s exhibition halls. At GITEX 2025 and Gulfood 2026, fine-pitch LED installations dominated the floor — and the trend is accelerating.

What’s driving it: LED content can be changed in seconds, costs less per impression than printed graphics, and creates the cinematic visual scale that today’s hyper-stimulated visitors respond to.

AURA 919 designs, sources, installs and operates LED walls for exhibition stands across DWTC, ADNEC, Expo City Dubai, RICEC Riyadh and Doha Exhibition Centre. Our in-house technical team manages content and live operation throughout the show.

5. Social-First Stand Design — Built for the Camera

Every visitor at a major Dubai exhibition is a content creator. The most successful exhibition stands in the GCC in 2026 are designed with social media as a primary output — not an afterthought.

This means:

  • Designated social moment zones — photogenic, branded, shareable
  • Custom hashtag integrations displayed throughout the stand
  • Live social walls showing visitor content in real time
  • Lighting designed for portrait and video, not just ambience
  • Brand activations that visitors actively want to photograph and share

The result: your stand reaches far beyond the exhibition hall. One well-designed social moment at GITEX can generate millions of organic impressions within 24 hours.
